My Experience at Paris Fashion Week Representing Iraq on the Global Stage
Preparing for the show in Paris.

This October marked my second time participating in Paris Fashion Week, one of the most iconic fashion events in the world. It still feels surreal to stand among international models from across the globe, representing not only myself but also Iraq, a country that rarely gets visibility in the fashion world.

This year, I had the opportunity to work with two designers, both offering completely different creative visions. Each show was a new learning experience from long hours of preparation backstage to the adrenaline rush of walking under the bright lights in front of celebrities, photographers, and industry professionals. What stood out most to me was how diverse and inspiring the environment was. I met models, stylists, and designers from dozens of countries, all with their own stories, passions, and dreams.

For me, being an Iraqi in such a global setting carried deep meaning. It’s a reminder that art and fashion can connect people beyond culture and borders. Every conversation backstage, every shared laugh, and every collaboration helped me grow both professionally and personally. Fashion is not just about clothes it’s about confidence, communication, and connection.

Participating in events of this level has taught me to believe in myself more, to see how far dedication and faith can take someone from a small village to an international stage. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey, building more connections, and showing the world that Iraq can be represented in beautiful, professional, and high-quality ways. My goal is not only to model but also to inspire other young Iraqis to dream beyond limits to believe that no matter where you come from, your passion can take you anywhere.
