Injury update on Aberdeen defender Tom McIntyre ahead of Hearts clash at Tynecastle
Aberdeen centre-back Tom McIntyre was forced off injured in the 0-0 draw at Dundee United and interim boss Peter Leven has delivered an update ahead of the trip to Premiership leaders Hearts.
Aberdeen interim boss Peter Leven has delivered an injury update on centre-back Tom McIntyre ahead of the trip to Premiership leaders Hearts.
McIntyre suffered a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw at Dundee United on Tuesday and was forced off in the 44th minute.
January signing McIntyre, 27, has started all four games since signing a short-term deal until the end of the season following his exit from Championship Portsmouth.
Interim boss Leven’s centre-back options have been hit with injuries to Mats Knoester and Kristers Tobers.
Latvian international Tobers is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Knoester has been side-lined since being knocked unconscious in the 3-0 away at Kilmarnock on January 31.
The Dutch defender is set to see a specialist in three weeks.
On loan Queens Park Rangers centre-back Liam Morrison returns from suspension.
Leven delivers McIntyre update
Leven replaced McIntyre at Tynecastle with midfielder Sivert Heltne Nilsen and switched to three-centre backs, with Gavin Molloy moving inside from left-back.
Leven confirmed McIntyre is ruled out of the trip to Tynecastle.
On McIntyre, the interim boss said: “Tom will miss out (on Hearts).
“It is not as bad as first thought but it is just a bit too early for this weekend.”
