Spectacular images as Northern Lights illuminate Highland skies
The Aurora Borealis was visible over much of north and north-east Scotland last night.
The night sky over the north and north-east came alive last night, as the Northern Lights put on a spectacular display.
The Aurora Borealis was visible to the naked eye over much of the region, with the sky painted vibrant shades of green and pink.
The natural light show is caused by particles from the Sun colliding with gases in Earth’s atmosphere, which creates the colours.
People from across the region have been sharing their photographs of the northern lights last night.
