Dons striker Kevin Nisbet netted two of the six goals in the running for this season's award.

Aberdeen have unveiled their goal of the season shortlist ahead of the club’s end of season awards ceremony.

The club’s player of the year dinner is due to take place at P&J Live on Thursday, April 23 at P&J Live.

Six goals have been shortlisted for the men’s team’s goal of the season accolade.

Kevin Nisbet has two goals in the running – his free kick in the home match against Dundee (a 3-2 loss) and his strike against Dee at Dens Park in the 3-1 victory in December.

Marko Lazetic’s solo effort against St Mirren in the 1-0 win in Paisley in October has also made the shortlist.

The other contenders are a goal from former Don Jesper Karlsson in the 4-0 win against Dundee in October, Stuart Armstrong’s winner against Kilmarnock in the same month and Graeme Shinnie’s long-range drive against Motherwell in February’s 2-0 win in the Scottish Cup.

The six contenders for women’s goal of the season are: Toni Finnegan (v Montrose), Alex Clarke (v Montrose), Hannah Stewart (v Celtic), Kerry Beattie (v Kilmarnock), Aimee Black (v Hamilton) and Darcie Miller (v Hamilton).

Aberdeen fans can vote for their goal of the season on the club website.

Player of the year shortlist

The Red Army can also vote for the player of the year awards for the men’s and women’s team.

The shortlist contains all players currently at the club who have made 10 appearances or more this season.

Jack Milne, Topi Keskinen, Dimitar Mitov, Graeme Shinnie, Kevin Nisbet, Nicky Devlin, Marko Lazetić, Mats Knoester, Stuart Armstrong, Alexander Jensen, Nicolas Milanović, Dylan Lobban, Ante Palaversa, Kenan Bilalović, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Gavin Molloy, Lyall Cameron, Toyosi Olusanya, Mitchel Frame.

Women’s shortlist:

Abi Tobin, Eva Thomson, Francesca Ogilvie, Hannah Stewart, Aimee Black, Toni Leigh Finnegan, Jessica Broadrick, Madison Finnie, Emma Ilijoski, Bridget Galloway, Kerry Beattie, Katie Cox, Mya Christie, Alex Clarke, Holly Daniel, Darcie Miller.
