Caley Thistle midfielder set for new two-year deal
Inverness manager Scott Kellacher continues to shape his squad by agreeing terms with the first player from the League One title-winning squad.
Midfielder Paul Allan has reportedly signed a new two-year contract with League One champions Caley Thistle.
The Daily Record says the former Dunfermline Athletic player, 26, has signed a deal taking him through to the summer of 2028 for the now Championship side.
Allan was signed by Duncan Ferguson in 2024 and has made 78 appearances for Inverness, scoring 10 goals.
Allan will become the first of the current squad to be confirmed as staying on, which comes one day after former Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie returned to the clubwhere his career kicked off as a youngster in 2008-09.
Defender Danny Devine, midfielders Calum MacLeod and Adam Mackinnon and winger Luis Longstaff are the players already under contract until the end of next season.
Earlier this week, ICTFC confirmed the departures of defenders Ross Millen, Oscar MacIntyre, Jake Davidson, Matthew Strachan, Jack Walker and Sam Nixon, midfielder Robbie Thompson and strikers Chanka Zimba and Ben Gardiner.
Range of deals being considered
Manager Scott Kellacher is hopeful of getting more contracts sorted out within the next 48 hours.
Included in the list of players out of contract are: goalkeepers Ross Munro, Logan Ross and Szymon Rebilas, defender Remi Savage, midfielders Joe Chalmers, David Wotherspoon, Jordan Alonge, Sam Thompson and Shae Keogh and forwards Billy Mckay, Ben Corner and Sam Reid.
Mckay, the club’s record scorer with 132 goals from 376 appearances, hinted at the end of the season that he may focus more on coaching rather than playing.
With Zimba being released, Inverness will hope they can persuade attackers Alfie Bavidge and Alfie Stewart to commit to moves to the Highlands.
The duo were on loan from Aberdeen last season and have been offered new deals at Pittodrie after being previously told before manager Stephen Robinson’s arrival in March that their contracts would not be renewed.
While often playing out wide, 20-year-old Bavidge was the club’s top scorer last season with 20 goals, while 19-year-old Stewart chipped in with eight goals.
Chairman Alan Savage, who saved the club from going under to take it out of administration last year, wants to help Kellacher assemble a competitive squad for the club’s return to the Championship after a two-year absence.
