Iraq to Resume Flights as Regional Airspace Stabilizes
"The resumption of flights was made possible after the elimination of the aviation security threat and the gradual stabilization of the country’s airspace," the statement said.

The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced on Tuesday the gradual resumption of flights through Baghdad and Basra International Airports, beginning Wednesday, according to a statement by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The decision came under the direct supervision of Minister of Transportation Razzaq al-Saadawi and the close oversight of Iraqi Airways Director General Manaf Abdul-Moneim Ajil. Iraqi Airways is set to resume its regular flight schedule to multiple destinations served by the national carrier.
The Ministry confirmed that the move follows the successful implementation of an emergency air evacuation plan that was launched in response to regional security threats. Over the past weeks, Iraqi Airways operated approximately 90 evacuation flights from Basra International Airport, returning more than 24,900 Iraqi nationals who had been stranded abroad due to the temporary suspension of air travel.
"The resumption of flights was made possible after the elimination of the aviation security threat and the gradual stabilization of the country’s airspace," the statement said. "All operations were carried out efficiently and within secure air corridors, thanks to coordinated efforts between Iraqi Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant authorities."
The ministry expressed its appreciation for the efforts of all stakeholders involved and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and continuity of air travel for Iraqi citizens.
