Emergency services called to Peterhead wheelie bin blaze
Two fire appliances were sent to the scene.
Emergency services were called to a fire involving several wheelie bins on Saturday evening.
The blaze happened on Constitution Street, near the cemetery, at around 5pm on Saturday, February 28.
Images shared on social media by Fubar News show the extent of the blaze, with flames and smoke rising high into the air.
The flames can be seen close to nearby homes.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were alerted to the blaze and sent two appliances to the scene.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.07pm and mobilised two appliances to the scene.
“Several wheelie bins were set alight. One jet and one breathing apparatus were used.”
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and left the scene about 30 minutes later.
There were no reported injuries.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
