The moment a dog runs onto the pitch during Peterhead’s match against Queen of the South
Canine pitch invader brought the Blue Toon's league match on Saturday to a halt.
Peterhead’s League One game against Queen of the South was brought to a halt on Saturday by a four-legged pitch invader.
The Blue Toon’s match against play-off rivals Queens was goalless in the 70th minute when a Border Collie ran onto the pitch at Balmoor Stadium to stop proceedings.
The passing dog had found an open gate at the stadium and decided to check out what all the noise was about as he ran onto the field of play to stop play.
Following a couple of minutes where the furry foe disrupted play the dog departed the pitch to allow the match to continue.
Peterhead went on to draw the game 1-1 with the result ending the League One side’s hopes of qualifying for the end of season play-offs.
Former Don Niall McGinn’s 78th minute goal gave Peterhead the lead but Matthew Douglas equalised for Queens two minutes from time to book their place in the Championship play-off.
The amusing moment was captured by journalist Finlay Jack.
