Germany and Algeria forge strategic energy partnership during high level Berlin summit

Algerian president Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently concluded an official diplomatic visit to Berlin for high level economic talks. Both governments subsequently adopted a strategic partnership agreement to significantly expand bilateral trade and long term energy cooperation. Algeria effectively positions itself as a dominant regional energy hub connecting African resources with European industrial markets. Joint economic committees will reactivate bilateral business councils to facilitate private sector investments across both countries. German manufacturing companies seek new opportunities in green hydrogen production, critical raw materials, and emerging clean technologies.

European Union leadership previously granted the hydrogen corridor special status under its global gateway development strategy.
