Strathspey Thistle swoop to sign Robbie Thompson
Strathspey Thistle manager Aaron Doran believes new recruit Robbie Thompson will be an important addition.
Strathspey Thistle manager Aaron Doran believes Robbie Thompson will be a big addition after landing the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle player.
The 22-year-old midfielder left the Caley Jags earlier this month and has now joined the Grantown outfit on a two-year contract.
Thompson has previous Breedon Highland League experience having had loan stints with Clachnacuddin and Brora Rangers.
He has also played in the SPFL, for Caley Thistle, as well as in League Two during loans at Spartans and Elgin City.
Thompson follows Kevin Fraser, Jack Davison and Ross Hardie in joining Strathspey this summer.
Thistle boss Aaron Doran said: “I’m buzzing to get Robbie in. I’ve played with him before and kept a close eye on his journey – he’s exactly the type of player we want at this club.
“He’s come through a top system, gained great experience across the leagues, and he’s hungry to kick on.
“He works hard, has a great attitude and knows how to impact games. He’ll be a big addition for us this season.”
