A warning has been issued regarding dogs after a child was bitten near Milltimber School.

The incident is believed to have taken place at the end of the school day on Tuesday June 8, while parents were gathering to take there children home.

It is currently unknown the age and gender of the child involved.

However, a child was bitten by a dog in what Aberdeen City Council’s calls an “unfortunate incident”.

The pupil was from Milltimber School but the incident did not occur on school grounds but on a nearby street.

‘No dogs are allowed in the school grounds’ says council

A warning was sent out to parents to advise that dogs should not be left unattended.

An Aberdeen City Council spokesperson said: “The council is aware of this unfortunate incident and wishes the pupil a speedy recovery.

“The incident did not occur on school grounds but on a public road outside of school grounds.

“No dogs are allowed in the school grounds and there is signage to state this.

“A letter has been sent June 11 by the Head Teacher to the school community, reminding them that dogs should not be left tied up/unattended near the school grounds."
