Algeria and Egypt discuss regional stability

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi held a phone conference addressing regional security challenges current. The discussion focused on ongoing conflicts across Gaza the Gulf and North Africa while emphasizing importance of peaceful political solutions. Both leaders stressed urgent need for dialogue and coordination to prevent escalation and maintain stability across interconnected regional security environments.

During the call both presidents highlighted importance of stabilizing Libya through inclusive political dialogue and coordinated international support mechanisms. They underscored that sustainable peace in Libya requires engagement among domestic actors alongside regional backing to strengthen governance institutions. Consequently both sides reaffirmed commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and unity within Libyan political structures.

Separately Algerian and Libyan ministries responsible for water resources and hydraulics agreed to begin drafting a memorandum of understanding. The agreement aims to enhance shared water management cross border technical cooperation and infrastructure development supporting long term resource sustainability goals. Officials noted that collaboration will improve efficiency strengthen resilience and address growing environmental and resource challenges affecting communities in both countries.
