World Smart Industry Expo showcases over 3,000 innovations, 100 first releases

Focused on "AI+" and intelligent connected new energy vehicles (NEVs), the 2025 World Smart Industry Expo was held in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality from September 5 to 8.
The event featured industrial ecosystem forums, professional exhibitions, competitions, results releases and industry matchmaking sessions. The expo showcased more than 3,000 innovative products and unveiled over 100 new industry standards, products and technologies. Five specialized sections – intelligent connected NEVs, digital city governance, robotics, smart living and low-altitude economy – brought together over 550 enterprises from China and abroad.
The intelligent connected NEV section featured 20 top automakers, including Changan, Seres and Tesla, alongside 108 parts suppliers and ecosystem partners. The section highlighted the latest advancements in smart driving, intelligent cockpits and AI-powered vehicles.
Key new releases included Chongqing's comprehensive management platform for low-altitude flight, Sugon's next-generation AI computing open architecture, and the world's highest-density AI supercluster. The China New Energy Vehicle Challenge was also launched during the event.
Wang Zhijie, director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, said that the expo gathered 10 high-profile domestic and international industry leaders and experts at the opening ceremony. They discussed AI-driven advancements in the automotive industry and building a foundation for industrial AI, sharing innovative practices and strategic insights.
More than 10 ecosystem conferences took place during the expo, with more than 200 participants from government think tanks, leading universities and top enterprises exchanging insights. Six competitions were also held, including the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Chongqing International Invitational and the Chongqing Drone Racing Championship.
A series of industry matchmaking events provided a platform for connecting enterprises with market needs.
In addition, the expo also offered a series of immersive, interactive experiences to enhance visitor engagement. Attendees were able to try out smart vehicle cockpits, interact with digital counseling assistants, explore XR film creation zones, and relax in fully automated robot cafés, gaining an up-close experience of smart living.
