President Nechirvan Barzani meets with the British Ambassador

President Nechirvan Barzani received Irfan Siddiq, the British Ambassador to Iraq.

Their meeting focused on the UK’s relationship with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the political landscape in Iraq, and the formation of the federal government. They emphasized the necessity of ongoing coordination among political parties to ensure stability, peace, and sovereignty.

Both sides discussed the political climate in the Kurdistan Region and the initiatives aimed at addressing and resolving internal challenges. They also deemed it essential to maintain dialogue and mutual understanding between Erbil and Baghdad to tackle unresolved issues.

Another part of their discussion focused on the latest developments in the region. They welcomed the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it would contribute to peace and stability. They underscored the significance of resolving conflicts through peaceful means.

The meeting was attended by the British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
