KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — Law enforcement agencies have been assured that they are free to take action against corrupt individuals, even if those involved are prominent figures, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The prime minister said he was prepared to stake everything to defend enforcement actions taken against corrupt individuals in the interest of the nation, according to a report published in Berita Harian today.

He noted that when discussing anti-corruption enforcement, he was aware of officers’ concerns over whether action taken against certain individuals, particularly those of high status, would be backed by their leadership.

“But as I’ve made clear — if there is evidence, and no element of victimisation, action must be taken firmly, decisively and immediately.

“I will stake everything to defend them in carrying out their duty to save this country.

“This means I must personally lead and declare my full, undivided support for their actions — and we value such efforts,” he said at the Prime Minister’s Department Monthly Assembly for October 2025 here today.
