US Embassy in Baghdad Prepares for Evacuation, official told Kurdistan24

A U.S. embassy official in Baghdad informed on Wednesday that the embassy is preparing for evacuation due to concerns about military attacks and will reduce its staff in two phases.

Preparations for the evacuation will commence today, the source stated. 

in Baghdad reported that there is a serious threat to the embassy. The United States has repeatedly warned Iran-backed armed groups that any attack on the embassy would provoke a military response.

U.S. President Donald Trump has consistently threatened military action against Iran if negotiations regarding its nuclear program do not succeed. On Wednesday, he expressed diminishing confidence that Tehran would agree to halt uranium enrichment, which is a crucial demand from the United States.

In response, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh warned that Iran would target U.S. bases if the nuclear talks collapsed, potentially leading to war.
