President Nechirvan Barzani’s message on World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and appreciation to all environmental advocates, organizations, and stakeholders in the Kurdistan Region who are working diligently to protect the beautiful nature and environment of our country.

The responsibility of protecting the environment and addressing the effects of climate change extends beyond government obligations; it is an important national and humanitarian duty. It is essential for all of us to work together to promote a culture of environmental stewardship and reduce threats to our country’s natural environment through schools, families, the media, and institutions.

We reaffirm our commitment in the Kurdistan Region to work alongside the Federal Government of Iraq and the international community to implement the necessary measures to protect natural resources and ensure a healthy environment and a brighter future for future generations.
