Pakatan to unveil Johor state poll candidates in Bukit Gambir tomorrow, says Anwar
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will attend Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) announcement of its candidates for the 16th Johor state election in Bukit Gambir tomorrow.
Anwar said in a social media post today that he will join PH leaders at the event, which he described as part of the coalition’s preparations for the upcoming polls, according to Bernama.
He said he will be in Bukit Gambir “to announce the candidates who will shoulder the people’s trust in the 16th Johor state election,” adding that Johor deserves leadership that is “honourable, capable and hardworking for the state’s progress and the well-being of its people.”
Anwar also invited the public to attend the event, calling it an early step toward victory.
The PH Johor candidate announcement is scheduled for 8pm at Padang Bukit Gambir Extreme Park in Tangkak.
The Election Commission has set July 11 as polling day for the Johor state election, with nomination day on June 27 and early voting on July 7.
