Caley Thistle have confirmed the signing of former midfielder Roddy MacGregor on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old is an ICT academy graduate who signed his first professional contract in May 2018.

He made his senior debut in November 2018 and went on to make 113 appearances for the Caley Jags, scoring six goals.

After leaving the club in 2024, MacGregor spent the last two seasons with Championship side Queen’s Park where he made 69 appearances.

MacGregor is delighted to become Scott Kellacher’s eighth permanent summer signing.

He said: “I’m really happy to be back. I’m excited about getting going here as it’s a really good place to play football.

“I know the gaffer and Billy really well, and I know the football they want to play. It’s really exciting to watch, and that was a big factor in my decision. I know the club too, and I’m an Inverness fan, so that was another big factor.”

Eleven arrivals at Caley Thistle

Since winning the League One title in May, Inverness have signed former Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie, another ex-ICT star, defenders Nou Boutin and Kerr Smith, midfielder Ryan Duncan, winger Liam Sole and forwards Hamzad Kargbo and Miller Keir.

Kellacher has also brought Alfie Stewart and Alfie Bavidge back on loan from Aberdeen for a third time and secured a season-long loan move for Swansea City forward Morgan Bates.

It’s understood Kellacher would like one more attacking player before the summer transfer window closes.

Caley Thistle, the League One champions last season, kick off their new season in the Championship this weekend at home to Dunfermline Athletic.
