Saudi-US Investment Forum Kicks Off in Riyadh Amid Historic Presidential Visit

Riyadh, May 13 – The Saudi-US Investment Forum is taking place today at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, marking a key moment in bilateral economic relations. The event coincides with the state visit of the 45th and 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Forum brings together leading Saudi and American investors to celebrate a partnership that spans nearly a century. The deep-rooted ties between the two nations trace back to the historic 1945 meeting between King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud and U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt aboard the USS Quincy.
Over the decades, the United States has become the largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Saudi Arabia, with American investors accounting for approximately $54 billion—nearly one-quarter of all FDI in the Kingdom. Investment from the U.S. continues to grow, reinforcing the vital economic partnership.
Saudi Arabia, in turn, has maintained its strategic role as a key player in global energy stability while emerging as a significant investor in the United States. Saudi investments span a range of sectors including oil refining, petrochemicals, and technology startups in Silicon Valley.
The Forum underscores the enduring economic alliance and the shared vision for continued growth and cooperation between the two nations.
