Missiles and drones targeting Erbil air base and US consulate intercepted

Missiles and drones targeting a base near Erbil International Airport and the U.S. Consulate in Erbil were intercepted Saturday by American air defense systems, as Iran launched strikes against regional targets in response to joint Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iranian territory.

Videos recorded near the airport and consulate showed projectiles being shot down before reaching their targets. No immediate reports of casualties or damage were available.

Iraq has closed its airspace amid the ongoing strikes.
