President Nechirvan Barzani met with Qais Al-Khazali, Secretary General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, in Baghdad, on 5 May 2026.
The meeting addressed the political landscape of the country, ongoing efforts to establish a new federal government, and recent regional developments and their implications for Iraq.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of mutual understanding to address challenges and the importance of ongoing collaboration among political entities to ensure the protection of the country’s interests and those of all its communities.
