Caley Thistle are reportedly set to bring Kilmarnock defender Ben Brannan back to Inverness on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Under the new Rugby Park management of former ICT bosses and assistant Neil McCann and Billy Dodds, the 19-year-old has failed to make the squads for a 3-0 win against Aberdeen and a 5-1 defeat at Ibrox.

His last start came in the 3-1 home loss to Hibernian and the lack of game-time has led to several lower league clubs putting in a bid to take the player on loan for the closing months of the season.

The Killie Chronicle say the right-sided full-back, who can also play in midfield, is poised to rejoin Scott Kellacher’s League One leaders.

He made the same switch 12 months ago and made 11 appearances for Inverness and scored one goal.

The long-throw specialist, who has been capped for Scotland under-17s, also captained Killie to Scottish Youth Cup victory in the final against Dundee.

If completed, Brannan will follow Stoke City winger, Nairn-born Kieron Willox as Kellacher’s sole signings in 2026.

Inverness will aim to open up a three-point lead over Stenhousemuir at the top of League One if they beat visitors East Fife on Saturday.
